about

THANK YOU for arriving at this site!

Purchasing my song initiates the work of the Center for Intelligent Recovery (CIR), a new non-profit I'm involved with. Youth and young adults need new coping skills to stay healthy and smart about substance use in today's society, and we'll provide awareness, education and advocacy about current science in addiction recovery.

It is dangerous to ignore the omnipresent availability of drugs and alcohol in the USA. Our insatiable demand for mind altering costs us trillions! Building a reservoir of funding allows CIR to initiate research, program design and community action to counter this epidemic trapping too many people we love. Of course, all operations will follow best practices in non-profit administration (i.e. GuideStar).

PEACE BEGINS WITH ME

I wrote PEACE when my heart was breaking. My emotions were toxic and through it, I learned that the only thing left was to stretch my heart to dilute the pain. Toxins are more harmful in a small glass than an entire pond, and the more our hearts open, the more we see love boundless and accessible in every moment, if we get our of our own small story.

This is my first of several projects for 2017. Thanks so very much for supporting my continued work in community health and youth engagement. Please encourage others to support my easy way of fundraising for community benefit. Keep in touch!

Best, to each of you!
Nancy

Produced and engineered by June Millington. Recorded at Institute of Musical Arts West, (IMA) Bloomfield Rd., Sonoma County, CA, 2002.

lyrics

Peace Begins With Me

Make my heart as wide as the ocean
Deeper still than any sea
Take my arms and lift them open
Know that peace on the earth, it begins with me

Mark the ground for a new tomorrow
roots and seeds for a mighty tree
Living
sounds of pain and sorrow, but
show the world all the love there is yet to be
Show the world, all the love there is yet to be

Ride the wind on the wings of a wild dove
higher still, cross an eastern shore
Spirits calling, surely blessed with love
landing home, only just to take flight once more
Landing home, just to take to the sky once more

Sure as breeze we go!
Everything falling around we don’t let it show
just keep everything under control
But once you let in all the love that’s around you
no chance, you can’t lose, when that power surrounds you!
No turning back, when it’s so much more than about you…

Seven stars in a midnight clearing
soul to soul, in fire and snow
Through every border, hope appearing
reaching out, hand to hand, we can make it grow
Reaching out, hand to hand we can make it grow

So make you hearts as wide as the oceans
deeper still, than any sea
Catch your eye, each and every morning
Say, “Peace on earth, I know it begins with me”
“Yes, I know, peace on earth, it begins with me”
Say, “Yes, I know
peace on earth
it begins with me”
